  In Visitation (Sussex, 1530+1663-4, Apsley), the Harleian editors report on 2 documents which cover this generation. One shows John as father, by Jane Michell (the only wife mentioned), of William. We follow the other with support/input from Visitation (Sussex, 1662, Apsley of Ticehurst) which does not identify the children of the 1st marriage but does give those of the 2nd marriage albeit not mentioning William.
