| Vivian, in his article on the Worth family in his work on the Visitations of Devon, identifies Ralph de Paynell, Sheriff of York, as father of the following 3 sons but does not mention any of the above. Various web sites insert another generation, showing the following as son of Ralph, son of Sheriff Ralph. We show the connection made by Vivian to make it clear that we have seen it but we recommend that it be viewed with caution. | |||||||||||||||

Vivian (1895), Devon, 1531+1564+1620+additions, 'Cogan of Baunton', p212), which starts with this William, which shidentifiesows her as Johanna, dau of Robert de Dowa(y) of Braunton son of Walter, with Fulco's wife being Alice, sister/coheir of Gilbert de Abrincis.
