Robert Smith of Ilminster
1. Edmond Smith of Ilminster
BP1934 (Smith-Marriott) reports that Edmond m. Grace, dau of William Rawlins, and had issue. BLG1952, which provides the following, starts with Capt. Edmund Smith of Ilminster (b 1619, d before 1700), "eldest son of Robert Smith, of Ilminster (see Burke's Peerage, Smith-Marriott, Bt.)", whom we presume to be this Edmond. However, apart from the discrepancy mentioned below regarding Charles of Waddon, BLG1952 identifies Edmond's wife as ...
  m. Eleanor (bur 10.09.1695)
  A. William Smith of Tenerife, later of Poplar & Millswall (b 11.03.1652)
  i. Charles Smith
BLG1952 shows a Charles (b 1691) of this generation as 'of Waddon', father (by Rebecca Marriner) of Charles who was father (by Judith Lefevre) of Charles of Suttons (m. Augusta Smith). That is clearly the Charles of Waddon whose parentage is shown differently by BP1934 (see below).
